J Dub City: The Day Life Changed for Dak Prescott and Tony Romo

November 15th, 2016. A normal day to some, but for sports fans in the Metroplex, it was a day that changed everything. Jean-Jacques Taylor and Will Chambers took a few moments during Wednesday’s show to talk about the impromptu afternoon press conference at The Star that changed the course, officially for the Dallas Cowboys.

Just before 5pm, Tony Romo took the podium inside the media room. He would not take questions, he would just read a brief statement lasting just under 5 minutes in total. It was that moment he declared

“Football is a meritocracy. You aren’t handed anything. You earn everything every single day single day, over and over again. You have to prove it. That’s the way that the NFL, that’s the way that football works. A great example of this is Dak Prescott and what he’s done. He’s earned the right to be our quarterback.”

And just like that, the Romo era was officially over, and the Dak Prescott era officially began. Listen as we relive the moment, and how the lives of the two quarterbacks, the Dallas Cowboys, and Cowboys Nation changed forever
