49ers RB Coleman participates in walkthrough

San Francisco 49ers running back Tevin Coleman is making slow progress in his bid to return to the field against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV.Coleman, who is working his way back from a dislocated shoulder, followed up running on the side in Thursday’s practice by participating in the team’s walkthrough on Friday.Although Coleman technically missed his third straight practice and is officially listed as questionable, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan was encouraged after seeing his running back’s MRI results.”They were positive results so we’ll see how he is next week, but wasn’t able to go today,” Shanahan said.Coleman sustained his injury on Sunday during the second quarter of San Francisco’s 37-20 victory over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game.The 26-year-old’s injury opened the door for Raheem Mostert, who finished with 29 carries for a franchise-best 220 yards and four touchdowns.Coleman rushed for 544 yards and six touchdowns on 137 carries during the regular season. He produced 105 yards on 22 carries and scored twice in San Francisco’s 27-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC divisional playoff round on Jan. 11.Wide receiver Dante Pettis returned to practice without limitation on Friday, one day removed from sitting out the session due to illness.Linebacker Kwon Alexander (pectoral), defensive lineman Dee Ford (quadricep, hamstring) and safety Jaquiski Tartt (ribs) were limited for a third consecutive day.
