Agent: Bertans agrees with Spurs for two years, $14.5M

Restricted free agent big man Davis Bertans agreed to re-sign with the San Antonio Spurs on a two-year, $14.5 million deal, his agent told Yahoo Sports on Tuesday.Sportando reported on Monday that the sides had agreed on a four-year, $20 million pact, but a San Antonio Express-News report later Monday said no deal had been reached yet.Bertans, 25, received a $1.74 million qualifying offer as a restricted free agent last month after he made $1.3 million in 2017-18.The Latvian forward/center averaged 5.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 77 games (10 starts) last season, shooting 37.3 percent from 3-point range. He shot 39.9 percent from deep in 2016-17.The Indiana Pacers selected the 6-foot-10 Bertans in the second round of the 2011 draft, but he chose to remain in Europe for five seasons.He signed with San Antonio in July 2016 and bounced between the team’s G League affiliate and the NBA roster that season before earning a full-time role with the Spurs. Bertans has played 143 NBA games (16 starts) over the past two seasons.
