The Los Angeles Angels activated slugger Albert Pujols from the 10-day disabled list prior to Monday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.Pujols was placed on the DL due to pain in his left knee prior to the All-Star break.Monday’s contest will be the first for the 38-year-old since he belted two homers against the Seattle Mariners on July 12 to tie Ken Griffey Jr. for sixth place on the all-time list with 630. He went on the DL the following day.Pujols is batting .251 with 16 homers and 52 RBIs this season.The Angels also recalled right-hander Jaime Barria to start against the White Sox. Barria is 3-5 with a 3.55 ERA in 13 starts for Los Angeles.The Angels also optioned Deck McGuire to Triple-A Salt Lake and designated fellow right-hander Oliver Drake for assignment.McGuire is 0-1 with a 7.94 ERA in seven appearances (three starts) since being acquired by Los Angeles, while Drake was 0-1 with a 5.19 ERA in eight relief outings for the Angels.
