Angels’ Pujols (foot) sits again

Los Angeles Angels slugger Albert Pujols was out of the lineup for the second straight day on Thursday, two days after fouling a ball off his foot.Multiple outlets have reported the injury is minor. The Angels were set to wrap up their series at the Texas Rangers on Thursday evening, with three more games at Houston before the All-Star break begins Monday.Pujols, 39, has played in 69 of the team’s 87 games this season, his 19th in the majors, batting .234 with 13 homers and 44 RBIs.Also out of the lineup Thursday was outfielder Justin Upton, who exited Wednesday night’s game with left quad tightness.Upton, 31, is hitting .269 with three homers and six RBIs in 14 games since making his season debut in June, after missing the first two and a half months with a sprained toe.Los Angeles also made two roster moves Thursday, optioning right-hander Jaime Barria to Triple-A Salt Lake and recalling righty Taylor Cole.Barria, who turns 23 this month, allowed two runs on four hits in five innings while striking out eight in Wednesday night’s win, moving to 3-2 on the year. He has a 5.22 ERA in seven appearances (three starts).Cole, 29, has a 4.86 ERA in 11 appearances (one start) in the majors this year.
